Your child should be reading a minimum of 20 minutes each day. The books or stories that are read should be recorded on the READING LOG and initialed by you daily. Please foster a love of reading by modeling & listening to your child read every day!
Besides the reading requirements, your child will be responsible for assignments written in their daily homework agenda. These assignments will include SAXON MATH and SAXON PHONICS (the backside of the worksheet that we complete in class is A, homework is B). We complete activities in the classroom and the homework is meant to reinforce the skills taught.
Other worksheets or activities in Social Studies, Grammar, and Science will be recorded in the agenda when assigned.
Please make sure to keep a list of spelling words accessible for easy reviewing and practicing.
Parents, please initial the agenda every day! This will insure your child is completing all assignments and is an essential way to keep communication between home and school open.
