Welcome to Preschool Room 148

Welcome to Locke Preschool! My name is Nicole Papeck and I am the general education teacher in room 148. I am excited to start this new school year and adventure in learning with our youngest students! 
 
After learning about how amazing our brain is and how it develops, especially in young children, I decided to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. I addition to this degree, I also have a masters degree in curriculum and instruction and have an ESL endorsement. I have spent the majority of my teaching career teaching preschool. I taught 4-year-olds at a private school for 8 years before joining the Locke School team, where I have taught 2nd, 1st and Preschool the past 11 years. This will be my 6th year teaching preschool at Locke.
 
I teach along side my teaching assistant, Ms. Janiel Serrano. We teach behind the philosophy that children learn best through play. We work together to ensure that our students are given the opportunities to have play based experiences to develop all areas of their development. By the end of this school year, your child will grow in the following domains: social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and the academics (including literacy, math, science and social studies). We will make this year a success for your child and hope to create some memorable moments as they begin their educational journey!
