Mrs. Mantai's Welcome to 1st Grade Room 230!

My name is Mrs. Mantai and I am thrilled to begin my 8th year teaching 1st grade at Locke! Being a teacher seemed natural to me and I absolutely love what I do. I am passionate about helping students shape who they are and progress in all areas of their development. I feel fortunate to be apart of this teaching and learning community at Locke.  Please read through these website pages to get to know me and learn about our classroom. There is a remote learning section in case that were to happen again or a child/class is quarantined.  Your child will also receive a paper packet on the first day of school for you to keep. This packet will include basic classroom information for the year. Please return the last "getting to know your child" page along with emergency forms and other important forms in the white CPS paper packet and pages in their agenda book. I will attach weekly newsletters to regularly communicate updates with you through the Remind app. Please sign up if you are not connected or reach out if you need assistance with that.
