Ms. Kraft's Teacher Page

Welcome to 5th Grade Language Arts/Individuals & Societies!  My name is Ms. Kraft and I am happy to be your child's teacher this year.  The objectives for the school year is to practice reading strategies  while learning about history and ourselves.  We will also strengthen our writing skills by practicing different genres of writing by using the writing process.  Throughout the year we will practice Social and Emotional Learning skills and Calm Classroom strategies.

I have been teaching for 18 years.  I have my Bachelors in Elementary Education, Masters in Reading, and Masters in Educational Leadership.  I hold certificates for teaching Social Sciences, English as Second Language, as well as my Reading Specialist Certification.  I have a 21 year old son who is in college at the University of Illinois in Chicago studying to become a high school English teacher.  We have two dogs at home, who keep me very busy. Dakota and Ty are both black labs and were adopted from the Anti-Cruelty Society.  I also have  guinea pigs, or shall I say WE have guinea pigs named Walter S'mores and TBD as our class pets!
