Welcome

Welcome to 7th grade! My name is Mrs. Selim and I teach because I believe in lifelong learning. I always encourage my students to work hard and try their best to become successful in life. I would like to welcome parents and students to the new school year!

I am the 7th grade Math Teacher. This is my 23rd year at Locke School. I’ve been teaching for 32 years and I am very grateful to be part of the Locke School family. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and also in Teaching. I received my Masters in Education and later I earned my Administrator Certificate.

In 7th grade the course goal is to appreciate the value, power and beauty of mathematics and the recognition of its relationship with other disciplines and with everyday life. Introducing students to aspects of academic research in preparation for their high school research experience, including investigating, planning, creating, and evaluating, as related to the IB MYP Program.

My job is my passion and I am very excited to begin our new school year and I trust our year together will be full of exciting, enriching, and interesting experiences in learning.
