Greetings, students and parents! I'm Ms. Oshana and I'm thrilled to be a part of the dedicated team of educators here at Locke Elementary School. Let me share a bit about myself. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, which has been an invaluable resource in my teaching journey. Additionally, I am proud to be ESL Endorsed, ensuring that I can provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of their language background.
Outside the classroom, I have a wonderful family that keeps me inspired and motivated. I have been happily married to my husband for almost a decade, and together, we are blessed with two amazing boys who are the joy of our lives. As a family, we value education and believe it's the cornerstone of personal and societal growth. We proudly consider ourselves a generational Marine family, with a long history of service to our country. This heritage has instilled in us values of discipline, commitment, and integrity.
Teaching is not just a profession for me; it's a calling and a passion. I view it as a call of service to the city I love dearly. You might be surprised to know that I am a former CPS (Chicago Public Schools) student myself. My journey as a student in this city's educational system has deeply shaped my perspective as an educator. It's my mission to pay forward the knowledge and opportunities I received, ensuring that each of my students has the tools they need to succeed.
