Naviance

Dear 6-8th grade families,

 

Throughout the course of the school year, your child will be participating in various “Naviance” lessons. Naviance is a website filled with assessments and tools to help your child explore their interests and career options. The School Counselor, supported by the Individuals and Societies teacher, will deliver various lessons during the school day to help students…

 

-learn more about their career and academic interests,
-create goals aligned with these interests,
-explore colleges that can help them achieve their career goals.

 

This is important information for helping students see the importance of goal-setting, choosing a career that is a good fit for them, and learning what they need to do in order to enter that career. However, it is also important so that when they are ready to graduate from high school, they will have a plan for what comes next. Starting with the high school graduating class of 2020, having a concrete plan for post-high school will be a graduation requirement. Naviance is designed to help prepare your child meet this requirement but most importantly gives them a concrete individualized plan that will guide them on the path to success.
