Mrs. Mantai's Bio

I am excited to begin my 8th year teaching 1st grade at Locke. I am also excited to finally be working with students in person again! I am a graduate of Northeastern University with a certificate in Elementary Education. I also studied art at The American Academy of Art here in Chicago and have a background in Illustration. I am a kid at heart and love working with young minds. It's amazing what children are capable of when they believe in themselves. I believe everyone is deserving of a high quality education and can do anything they set their minds to. When I'm not teaching, I am spending time with my husband Andrew and my dog Indy. I also enjoy painting, reading, working on puzzles and watching Netflix.
